The SensorMount
the fit of a bearing mounted on a tapered seating. The SensorMount
system is also suitable for use with adapter sleeves, withdrawal
sleeves, and hollow shafts. The material composition of the shaft has
no effect on the proper operation of the SensorMount system.

Intended use

The SensorMount Indicator is only compatible with SKF SensorMount
bearings. SKF SensorMount bearings have designation numbers
beginning with the letters ZE, ZEB, or ZEV, e.g. ZE 241/500
ECAK30/W33. When used in accordance with these instructions, the
SensorMount Indicator provides a numeric value that guides the user
in achieving a reliable bearing fit.

Principle of operation

When a bearing is mounted on a tapered seating, the diameter of the
inner bearing ring increases. This causes a change in the internal
clearance of the bearing. SKF SensorMount bearings contain a
sensor that provides a measurement of this change.
The SensorMount Indicator interprets this signal and directly shows
the numerical value on the display according to the formula:
