Connection to the VS-FHP2.0

Variable Speed Pump
IMPORTANT
The installer must TURN ON switches 1 and 2 at the
VS-FHP2.0 pump when connected to the variable-speed
controller.
NOTE
The variable-speed controller part no. is JEP-R.
To install the variable-speed controller:
1.
Remove power from the pump by disconnecting
the high voltage lines or by opening any breaker to
which the pump power is connected.
WARNING
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
Turn off all switches and the main breaker in the VS-FHP2.0
pump electrical circuit before starting the procedure. Failure
to comply may cause a shock hazard, resulting in severe
personal injury or death.
2.
Slide dip switches 1 and 2 up, so they are in the ON
position, and slide switches 3 and 4 down, so they
are in the OFF position. See Figure 5.
3.
Connect the other end of the cable to the controller.
Match the colors of the wires with the appropriate
connector positions as follows: 1- red, 2- black, 3-
yellow, and 4- green.
4.
Restore power to the pump and verify the operation
of the controller.

Variable Speed Pump Switch
Settings
For the ePump and the VS-FHP2.0 pump, the 4-position or
5-position dip switch is located at the rear of the pump, as
shown in Figures 4 and 5.
This dip switch serves two functions, it determines what type
of control will be used with the pump and it selects the pump
address. The SW 1 (switch 1) and SW 2 are turned ON if the
pump is to be controlled by a stand alone controller or OFF if
the pump is to be controlled by the AquaLink
PDA or AquaLink Z4. See Figure 6 for dip switch settings.
2.9

Connection to Remote Contacts

The controller allows speeds "
remote contact closures (switch or relay). Speed "4" operates
differently than the other three. See Section 2.11, Remote
Closure 4 Behavior.
1.
Turn off all switches and the main breaker that
supplies power to the variable-speed pump.
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
Turn off all switches and the main breaker in the variable-
speed pump electrical circuit before starting the procedure.
Failure to comply may cause a shock hazard resulting in
severe personal injury or death.
2.
Connect one side of the remote contact closure to the
COMMON terminal on J3 REMOTE CONTROL
connector of the controller. See Figure 7.
