completely. Close the garden hose
On/Off valve and either empty the
waste bucket, or switch buckets,
before moving on to the next step.
6. Turn the prime/spray and pressure
valves to the spray position. The
pressure valve should be between
the low-pressure spray and high-
pressure spray positions.
7. Turn spray tip to the clean position
or remove from spray gun. Either
submerge the gun in the
wastewater, or point the gun down
at an angle near the top of the
bucket to reduce splashing. Pull the
trigger and allow water to flow
through the hose and gun until the
water is running clear.
8. Return the knobs to the prime
position. Close the garden hose
On/Off valve, and empty the waste
bucket.
9. Unscrew the filter housing top.
Remove intake filter and check to
make sure it is clean. If not, clean
separately. It is unlikely additional
cleaning will be required.
10. When you are satisfied that the
sprayer is clean, allow the unit to
run in prime and in spray with no
water in order to purge as much
fluid out of the pump and hose as
possible.
Note: The sprayer should be clean after
completing this process one time. If
necessary, repeat steps as required. No
need to add pump protector, thinner
or another type of corrosion protector
unless storing for extended periods, i.e.
more than a month or so.
If storing for extended periods: Spray a
lubricant (example: mineral spirits,
Campbell Hausfeld Pump Protector, oil,
etc.) into inlet valve with the pump
running. The pump will not be

damaged if stored at temperatures
below freezing. However, prior to
operation, allow the pump to warm to
temperatures above freezing –
otherwise pump damage may occur.
Cleanup – Oil-Based Coatings
Use the cleaning solvent recommended
by the coating manufacturer.
1. Pour the recommended solvent into
a bucket – approximately one (1)
gallon should be enough.
2. Place both suction and bypass tubes
in bucket of solvent.
3. Put the prime/spray and pressure
valves into the normal prime
position.
4. Turn sprayer on and allow solvent to
circulate for 5 minutes.
5. Turn the prime/spray and pressure
valves to the spray position. The
pressure valve should be between
the low-pressure spray and high-
pressure spray positions.
6. Turn spray tip to the clean position
or remove from spray gun. Either
submerge the gun in the solvent, or
point the gun down at an angle
near the top of the bucket to
reduce splashing. Pull the trigger
and allow solvent to flow through
the hose and gun until the solvent is
running clear (approximately two
minutes.)
7. Return the knobs to the prime
position. Set the waste solvent
aside.
8. Unscrew the filter housing top.
Remove intake filter and check to
make sure it is clean. If not, clean
separately. It is unlikely additional
cleaning will be required.

sprayer is clean, allow the unit to
