1. Start a control run limited to low dynamic response.
In spite of equal control, motors of the same design occasionally turn in oppo
site directions due to the circuitry. The DMES has a clockwise−rotating spindle:
If the drive trunnion is rotated in a clockwise direction, the slide moves in the
direction of the motor.
2. Start homing limited to low dynamic response. Only go as far as the end stop
on the motor side.
Providing the permitted impact energy is not exceeded, homing may take place
directly against the mechanical end position.
Maximum impact energy (= ½ mass x speed
DMES−18: max. 0.12 x 10
DMES−40: max. 1.0 x 10
3. Start a test run limited to low dynamic response.
4. Check whether the DMES fulfils the following requirements:
The slide traverses the complete intended positioning cycle.
The slide stops as soon as it reaches a limit switch.
5. In the event that the proximity sensors fail to respond, see è Eliminating
faults" and the operating instructions for the proximity sensors.
