The process of programming a BID chip is exactly the same as that for setting up a
memory in the charger for a battery, with the exception that the procedure is expanded
by the addition of a date. We recommend that you enter the date on which the battery
was first used. Please read Chapter 5.3 for details of the programming procedure; this
section also states the limits for the individual parameters.

Pressing the '3-D hotkey' activates the marked value, so

that you can edit it if necessary. The variable value is indi-
cated by the cursor (inverse video), and it can now be edi-

Each programming process must be completed by mar-
king and activating the 'END' line. If you have program-
med a new chip, or re-programmed the data, a security
query appears, as shown in the screen shot printed here.
Use the '3-D hotkey' to select and confirm your answer.
Once you have confirmed that you want the data stored,
the screen displays a message stating that the process is
in progress. The charger emits a brief beep to confirm that
the storage process has been completed successfully.
Once you have edited and stored the BID data, the 'BID
SYSTEM' display appears again on the screen, with the
programmed charge / discharge parameters alternating in
the second line. A charge or discharge process is always
started from this display, which also appears as soon as
0 0
a BID chip is connected (see Chapter 9).
The selected process is actually started by holding the '3-
D hotkey' pressed in for at least two seconds. The menu
for starting a charge or discharge process or a charge /
discharge cycle now appears. The course of events is

absolutely identical to that which occurs when you start a

process for one of the ten memories, and the same set-
up facilities and parameters are available. Please read the
section on page 17 (Chapter 6.1) carefully, as it describes
every aspect of this in detail.
