2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Unscrew the locking screw and open the battery lid (1). Insert the two enclosed 1,5 V AA batteries. Make sure that
the + and - poles are in the correct position. Ensure that the battery lid is closed completely.
ELECTO (headband worn over the head)
1. Extend the headband before use.
2. Place the earcups over the ears with the microphones (5) in the forward position to obtain the best listening
conditions, antenna (6) on the right side (picture A).
3. Adjust the crown headband by moving it up and down in the side headbands (picture B).
4. The ear cushions should seal firmly against the head (picture C-D). For best results, remove all hair under the
cushion. Noise reduction will be adverserly effected by anything that impairs the seal of the earmuff cushions
against the head, such as thick spectacle frames, balaclavas, etc. (picture E-F).
5. Turn on the volume control (2) and adjust the radio sound to a pleasant listening level. Adjust the tuning
by means of the tuning knob (3) located on the back of the cup. The volume for surrounding sound is
independently adjusted by the knob (4) on the back of the cup.
6. After automatic power-off (4 hours), turn the volume control off, wait 5 seconds, turn it on again to get another
4 hours of working time.
ELECTO HF (helmet)
1. Attach the adaptors to each side of the helmet by sliding them into the helmet slots (picture G).
2. Attach the helmet muff into the adaptors by sliding the helmet muff attachment (7) down into the adaptor
(picture H). Be sure to position the earmuffs with the microphones (5) in the forward position to obtain best
listening conditions, antenna (6) on the right side.
3. Ensure that the helmet muff is firmly attached by lifting the cups up and down.
4. Place the helmet on the head and adjust the earmuffs by sliding the cups up or down in the attachment buttons.
The ear cushions should seal firmly against the head (picture J,L). For best results, remove all hair under the
cushions. Noise reduction will be adverserly effected by anything that impairs the seal of the earmuff cushions
against the head, such as thick spectacle frames, balaclavas, etc. (picture M-N).
5. Turn on the volume control (2) and adjust the radio sound to a pleasant listening level. Adjust the tuning by
means of the tuning knob (3) located on the side of the cup. The volume for surrounding sound is independently
adjusted by the knob (4) on the back of the cup.
6. These earmuffs features a standby position (picture I). To engage this position, just pull the earmuffs outwards
until you hear a distinct click. To obtain user position just push the earmuffs inwards.
7. After automatic power-off (4 hours), turn the volume control off, wait 5 seconds, turn it on again to get another
4 hours of working time.
3. IMPORTANT USER INSTRUCTIONS
1. The earmuffs should be fitted, adjusted and maintained in accordance with the instructions.
2. The earmuffs should be worn at all times in noisy surroundings.
3. The earmuffs should be regularly inspected for serviceability.
4. The earmuffs should be cleaned and disinfected with soap and warm water. They must not be dipped into water.
5. Earmuffs and in particular cushions may deteriorate with use and should be examined at frequent intervals for
signs of, for example, cracking or sound leakage. Replacement cushions are available. For cushion replace-
ment, just pull off the old ones and snap-in the new ones. For the order of new ear cushions please see
information about hygiene kit.
6. The fitting of hygiene covers to the cushions may affect the acoustic performance of the ear-muffs.
7. Before and after usage, store in a dry place. The temperature should not exceed +55°C.
8. The product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances. Further information should be sought
from the manufacturer.
9. The earmuff is provided with electronic restoration of surrounding sound. The wearer should check the correct
operation before use. If distortion or failure is detected, the wearer should refer to the manufacturer's advice for
maintenance and replacement of the battery.
10. Warning – performance may deteriorate with battery usage. The typical period of continuous use that can be
expected is 130 hours.
11. The output signal of the sound restoration circuit of this hearing protector does not exceed the values known to
constitute a risk to hearing.
12. Warning – for lower external levels, the sound level under the muff can exceed the external level (amplification).
See "Sound restoration characteristics" graph below.
13. For the estimation of the effective attenuation of this earmuff, the additional noise emission by the radio and
the sound restoration should be taken into account. The estimated A-weighed noise level under the earmuff in
passive mode should not be greater than 82 dB(A). The maximum output from the radio receiver earphones is
82 dB(A).
