CAUTION
The drill can only be used in uncoated
tempered steel. Make sure the surface is free of paint and
loose rust before attempting to drill.
Material that has been cut with flame
CAUTION
can be converted into heat-treated material and therefore
is difficult to puncture. Avoid drilling near these areas
whenever possible.
NOTE
To drill a hole in a non-ferrous metal, a steel
plate must be secured to the surface of the material and
then the magnetic drill must be placed on the steel plate.
Operation
The drill is equipped with a surge fuse (A). If the machine
does not work, check the fuse. If it has blown, replace it
with a similar one.
CAUTION
Fill the coolant bottle (B) with cutting
coolant diluted with water (Ratio 1:10, if the chips have a
bluish color add more coolant).
1. Place the machine correctly on the workpiece and
connect the drill to the power supply.
2. Attach the safety belt.
3. Check that the magnet works by turning on its switch (C)
and check that the machine cannot be forcibly separated
from the workpiece.
4. Check that the motor works by turning its switch (D) ON
and OFF.
5. Open the coolant tap (E) and check that there is
sufficient flow to the cutter.
NOTE
The flow of coolant will increase when the
guide pin is pressed. Lifting the guide pin from the work
surface will reduce the flow of coolant.
6. Start the motor.
7. Turn the feed handle (F), to slowly lower the cutter (G)
until it makes contact with the workpiece. Continue to apply
only enough gentle pressure to allow the cutter to cut freely
through the workpiece.
NOTE
Depending on the thickness of the workpiece,
it may be beneficial to periodically turn off the machine, lift
the drill and remove the accumulation of chips.
8. Continue cutting to the end and then turn OFF the
motor.
WARNING
When the cut is finished, the guide pin
will eject the excess material. It will be very hot with very
sharp edges. Use a suitable container to receive the
material before it falls, to avoid an unsafe situation. Wear
protective gloves when handling waste. If the material is
not ejected from the cutter, remove the cutter from the
workpiece before removing it.
9. Return the drill to its highest position, turn OFF the
magnetic switch to release the magnetic base from the
material, and remove the safety strap.
