Attach cover
- Attach transmitter cover, rst.
- Con rm that receiver sensitivity attenuation LED stays
OFF. Place cover in position, but do not secure. A
"beep" sound will occur after ve seconds. After this
signal, secure the receiver cover with screws.
Sensitivity allowance is automatically set when the
beep sound is initiated.
If the Beep switch is left accidentally ON, tone will
stop when receiver cover is attached.
- If there is a continuous "beep" sound, detach receiver
cover and re-adjust referring to Auto-gain lock function.
Operation check
( g. 13)
After installation, alignment and auto-gain set, test
operation by walk testing the beam. Two methods may
be used:
Alarm LED only. ( g. 13A)
Alarm LED and sound check via Beep switch.
If the Beep switch is set to "ON", tone will stop when
cover is replaced, but be effective for an audible test of
operation for ve minutes after auto-gain is locked. ( g.
13B)
Functions description
Auto-gain lock function ( g. 15)
The auto-gain lock serves to standardize the
responsiveness and tolerance level of the units
regardless of varying distance in an installation.
- Fig. 15 shows these two sensors have exactly the
same tolerance and responsiveness levels even
though the distances are different.
A "beep" tone is issued from the receiver approximately
ve seconds after the cover is put into position. This tone
indicates the Auto-gain has been set. Refer to the chart
below.

attenuation LED lights.
1. Remove any obstructions. Ensure hand is not
breaking beam in holding cover.
A sound is generated regardless whether the Beep
(alignment tone) switch is set to ON or OFF.
The auto-gain setting is locked in for approximately
two weeks even if power is disrupted.
If the receiver cover is detached while power is
supplied or if power is discontinued for longer than
two weeks (but cover left in place), the auto-gain
automatically resets to maximum sensitivity.

Response time changeover function ( g. 8)
This feature can be used to change the response time
of the beam to best t the application. Exercise caution
in using the 0.7 sec. setting. Fast moving human may
not be detected. A Walk test is recommended to get
appropriate setting.
Alarm output ( g. 10)
N.C. or N.O. signal output is selectable. (Contact
capacity 30 V (AC/DC) or less)
Alarm memory function
The alarm memory LED indicates which sensor was
triggered when two or more sensors are placed on a
zone.
Reset can be automatic.
