Choice of sensor location
The sensor detection zone can be significantly reduced compared to the maximum coverage area by the presence of
obstacles such as furniture or partitions, which should be taken into account when deciding the number and position
of sensors.
Approximate coverage for a given assembly height and depending on the type of movement detected :
Height
Coverage area
2.0 m
3.3 m (35 m
2.2 m
3.6 m (40 m
2.4 m
4.0 m (50 m
2.6 m
4.3 m (60 m
IMPORTANT :
- When the installation height is reduced, the coverage area is reduced, but the sensitivity increases.
- Conversely, when the installation height is increased, the coverage area is increased, but the sensitivity is reduced.
- Where possible, the detector should not be positioned directly above the work surface.
- Avoid placing the sensor in direct view of a door in order to limit detection of people moving outside the room
(see fig. 1 next page).

IMPORTANT :
In the case of open-plan offices divided by partitions, it is advisable to place the sensor above the intersection of the
separating partitions (see fig. 2) and to use the lens masking accessory without masking the green LED.
Avoid placing near air vents, air conditioning units or heat sources, as air currents and sudden variations in temperature
can cause false tripping. To cover large surface areas, it may be necessary to use a number of sensors.
