Before use

Selecting a sanding sheet

Removal and surface
The material removal rate and surface quality are
determined by the grain strength of the sanding
sheet .
■ Please note that you need to use sandpapers
with different grains for working different
materials .

Changing sanding sheets

The random orbital sander has a Velcro sheet that
enables fast and simple changing of the sanding
sheets .
♦ Life the sanding sheet 4 on one side and pull
it off the sanding pad 3 to remove it .
NOTE
► Before fitting a new sanding sheet 4, remove
any dust and dirt from the sanding pad 3 .
♦ Make sure that the holes on the sanding sheet 4
match up with the holes on the sanding pad 3 .

Dust/chip extraction

■ Please refer to the section entitled "Safety
information" .
Dust extraction unit with dust collecting
device
♦ Push the dust collector 2 fully onto the appliance .
♦ To empty the dust collector 2, pull it off the
appliance .
NOTE
► To ensure optimum extraction, empty the
dust collector 2 regularly and tap it out .
To do this, open the dust collector 2 by
pressing on the catch 8 and pulling off
the rear part . Now remove the dust bag .

External extraction
Connecting
♦ To remove dust using a vacuum cleaner, push
the suction hose of a suitable dust extraction
device (e .g . a workshop vacuum cleaner) onto
the exhaust nozzle 6 .
NOTE
► If necessary, use the adapter 7 by pushing it
into the exhaust nozzle 6 .
Removal
♦ Pull the hose of the vacuum cleaner off the
exhaust nozzle 6 or the adapter 7 .

Use

Switching on and off

NOTE
► Always switch on the random orbital sander
before making contact with the material, then
apply it to the workpiece . During operation,
you can choose between instantaneous and
continuous operation
Switching on
♦ Press the ON/OFF switch 1 .
Switching off
♦ Release the ON/OFF switch 1 .
Speed preselection
♦ Select the required speed with the speed
control 5 .
Level 1: low speed
Level 6: high speed
