TRIMMER HEAD REPLACEMENT
WARNING:
after it is fixed in position, replace it
immediately. Never use a trimmer with
a loose cutting attachment. Replace a
cracked, damaged, or worn-out cutting
head immediately, even if damage
is limited to superficial cracks. Such
attachments may shatter at high speed
and cause serious injury.
Before replacement, refer to Fig. 15a
and Fig. 15b to become familiar with the
trimmer head assembly.

Remove the trimmer head

1. Remove the power plug from the
string trimmer.
2. Press the release tabs inward to
unlock them from the upper cover,
and then pull out the spool retainer
(Fig. 22).
3. Remove the spool assembly from
the spool retainer.
4. Remove the spring from the drive
shaft (Fig. 23).
5. Rotate the upper cover to align the
slot in the flange with the shaft-
locking hole in the gear case and
insert the provided Allen key into the
aligned holes to act as a stabilizer
(Fig. 24).
6. Wear gloves. Use the multi-function
wrench provided to loosen the
nut inside CLOCKWISE (Fig. 25).
Remove the nut and then remove
the upper cover. Save the flange and
flange cover on the drive shaft for
reassembly.
