4. MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS. RECOMMENDATIONS.
In order for the equipment to ha ve a long life we must
follow some essentia l rules for ma intena nce a nd use. Abide
by these recommenda tions.
CO RRECT MAINTENANCE O F THE EQ UIPMENT WILL
AVO ID A G REAT PERCENTAG E O F FAULTS.
4 .1 MACHINE MAINTENANCE. G ENERAL
RECO MMENDATIO NS.
Before ca rrying out a ny opera tion on the ma chine or
welding ca bles, we must pla ce the switch of the equipment
in "O " position of ma chine disconnected.
Specia lized personnel must ha ndle the ma chine to ca rry
out ma intena nce a nd repa ir opera tions.
BLO W THE INSIDE O F THE MACHINE WITH
CO MPRESSED AIR FRO M TIME TO TIME.
The a ccumula tion of meta l dust on the inside is one of the
ma in ca uses of brea kdowns in this type of equipment a s
they a re subject to a g rea t a mount of pollution. As a n
essentia l mea sure, the equipment must be kept sepa ra te
from the welding pla ce, not pla cing it a short dista nce a wa y.
Keeping the ma chine clea n a nd dry is essentia l. The inside
must be blown a s required. We must a void a ny a noma ly or
deteriora tion due to the a ccumula tion of dust. Blow the
inside of the equipment with clea n dry compressed a ir. As
routine to g ua ra ntee tha t the equipment works correctly,
check tha t once the ma chine ha s been blown the electrica l
connections a re still properly tig htened.
WARNING !: SEPARATE THE MACHINE SUFFICIENTLY
FRO M THE WO RKSTATIO N.
PREVENT METAL DUST ENTERING THE EQ UIPMENT.
LO CATE THE EQ UIPMENT IN A PLACE
WHERE CLEAN AIR IS CO NSTANTLY REPLACED.
The ma chine ventila tions must be kept free. It must be
loca ted in a pla ce where clea n a ir is renewed.
THE MACHINE MUST ALWAYS BE O PERATED WITH
THE HO USING O N.
DO NO T DISCO NNECT THE MACHINE IF IT
IS HO T.
If you ha ve finished the work do not disconnect the
ma chine immedia tely, wa it until the inner cooling system
ha s tota lly cooled it.
KEEP THE WELDING ACCESSO RIES IN
G O O D CO NDITIO NS FO R USE.
O NCE THE WELDING O PERATIO N HAS
FINISHED AVO ID DIRECT CO NTACT O F THE
ELECTRO DE-HO LDER CLAMP WITH THE
WELDING EARTH CLAMP AND THE O THER PARTS
CO NNECTED TO IT.
G ALA 2 0 0 0 MP
KEEP THE WELDING G UN IN G O O D
CO NDITIO NS FO R USE.
A da ma ge d or worn gun ca n ca use inefficient
welding.
WHEN FINISHING THE WELDING
O PERATIO N MAKE SURE THAT THE TO RCH CATCH
IS UNLO CKED. (If mecha nica l lock guns a re use d)
4 .2 RECO MMENDATIO NS FO R REDUCING
ELECTRO MAG NETIC CO MPATIBILITY (CEM)
PRO BLEMS.
The user is responsible for the insta lla tion a nd use of the
welding ma teria l a ccording to the instructions in this ma nua l
a nd the following recommenda tions.
Before insta lling the welding ma teria l, the presence of the
following in the surrounding a rea must be kept in mind:
•
Wiring for power, control, sig na lling , a nd telephones.
•
Ra dio a nd television receivers a nd tra nsmitters.
•
Computers a nd other control equipment.
•
Critica l security equipment.
•
People with pa ce ma kers or hea ring a ids.
•
Mea surement a nd ca libra tion equipment.
In order to reduce EMC problems, keep in mind the time
of da y when welding or other a ctivities will be ca rried out.
Move possible interference victims a wa y from the welding
insta lla tion.
ALWAYS CO NNECT THE MACHINE TO PO WER
USING AN EFFICIENT EARTH TAP.
IF PRO TECTIVE DEVICES O R SUPPLEMENTARY
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FILTERS ARE NEEDED,
CO NSULT O UR TECHNICAL SERVICE.
PERFO RM THE MAINTENANCE O PERATIO NS
DESCRIBED IN THIS MANUAL.
USE THE SHO RTEST WELDING WIRES PO SSIBLE
AND KEEP THEM PLACED NEXT TO EACH O THER
EQ UIPMENT FO RESEEN FO R USE IN INDUSTRIAL
ENVIRO NMENT. ELECTRO MAG NETIC DIFFICULTIES
MAY EXIST IN O THER ENVIRO NMENTS CAUSED BY
CO NDUCTED AND RADIATED DISTURBANCES.
IF THE WELDING PIECE IS G RO UNDED, KEEP IN
MIND O PERATO R SAFETY AND NATIO NAL
NEAR THE FLO O R.
