Minimum system requirements
Ready4Linux means that the ET 200SP Open Controller CPU 1515SP PC2 (F) is supplied with a pre-installed Software
Controller CPU 1505SP (F) and a free partition for the manual installation of the Linux operating system.
Linux Debian 9 has been tested and released for use with version 20.8 of the software controller. The ET 200SP Open
Controller CPU 1515SP PC2 (F) currently only supports kernel versions from ≥4.9 to <5.x.
You also have the option of installing a different preferred Linux distribution.
In case of technical difficulties, adjust your constellation with the Linux distribution given below.
For operation you require:

To enable the system to work, load a Linux image from the Debian website (https://www.debian.org/index.en.html)
ET 200SP Open Controller:

or

CPU 1515SP PC2 (F) Ready4Linux V20.8 or higher
Installation
Installation requirements
Please note the following requirements:
•
The ET 200SP Open Controller CPU 1515SP PC2 (F) Ready4Linux must be installed.
•
The CFast card must be inserted in the ET 200SP Open Controller (CPU 1515SP PC2 (F) Ready4Linux).
•
The bootable medium with the Linux operating system is connected to a USB port of the
ET 200SP Open Controller (CPU 1515SP PC2 (F) Ready4Linux).
Installation

Follow the individual installation steps with the help of the operating instructions for the software controller:
•
If necessary: Restore basic image (see Chapter 4.3 in the operating instructions named above)
•
Install Debian Linux (see Chapter 4.4 in the operating instructions named above)
•
Configure the Linux operating system (see Chapter 4.5 in the operating instructions named above)
•
Install Linux components (see Chapter 4.6 in the operating instructions named above)
Install the Linux components via a package structure which is provided with the basic image.
The packages are located on the third partition of the "/dev/sda3/SWCPU/packages/debian" directory.
The packages are available in the following formats:
*.deb (Debian compatible)

*.rpm (Fedora compatible)

Commissioning in STEP 7
To enable full functionality of the CPUs with the Linux operating system, further configurations/installations are required:
•
Configuring web server for use under Linux
•
Establish remote access via Linux network interface
•
Install driver for virtual Ethernet interface
