Battery charging

The mains voltage and the data on the type plate
must agree.
The batteries are partially charged and delivered in idle
state. The battery must be activated before using for the
first time. For this, place the battery 4 onto the charger
for a short time. The LED on the battery 6 indicates the
charge condition.
When the battery is not used for longer periods, it
switches to the idle state. In order to use the battery
again, it must be reactivated.
Pay attention that the charge contacts are protected
against debris and moisture, and that they are not
obstructed through foreign objects. Do not operate the
charger at locations where it is extremely hot or cold. It
operates best at normal room temperature.
After inserting the battery into the charge contacts 3 ,
the battery is automatically charged ( red LED 2 lights
up) and the LED indicator on the battery is lit.
When a too warm or too cold battery is inserted into the
charger ( red LED 2 flashes), the charging procedure
begins as soon as the battery has reached the correct
temperature (-10 ... + 66°C) and the maximum charg-
ing current flows.
The charging time is between 1 and 60 minutes (for 3.0
Ah batteries), depending on the charging condition of
the battery.

* When no LED lights up after inserting the battery despite mains voltage being present, send the charger together with the
battery to a customer service agent for Würth power tools. Ensure not to leave the battery inserted in the charger, and do
not test another battery. A defective charger can damage the battery.

When the battery is fully charged, the LED indicator
switches from red 2 to green 1 and the LED indicator on
the battery goes out.
The battery does not have to be removed from the
charger immediately after the charging. The battery can
remain in the charger. It can not be overcharged and is
thus always ready for operation.
When both LEDs flash alternately, the battery is either
not completely inserted or there is a malfunction of the
battery or the charger. For safety reasons, immediately
put the charger and the battery out of operation and
have them checked at a customer service agent for
Würth power tools.
When the device is subject to overload, all LEDs flash 4
times. To continue working, switch the device off and
then on again.
Charge-control Indicator
The battery 4 is fitted with a charge-control indicator 6 .
It indicates the charge of the battery at any given time
during the working process.
By pressing the button 5, the battery charge can also be
checked when the battery has been removed, or when
the machine is at a standstill (machine must be switched
off for at least 1 minute). After approx. 4 seconds the
battery charge display automatically turns off.
When the first indication element flashes, the battery is
almost discharged and must be recharged again.
