WARNING:
For single patient use only. Do not re-sterilize or reuse.
Disposable skull pins are to be used for one procedure only. Re-
sterilization will impair the function of the product and may result
in failure of the skull pin base when being used. Sharpness of the
skull pin is not guaranteed with repeated use. We recommend that
a second set of sterile skull pins be kept available in the event that
sterile technique is compromised.
Inspection
Always inspect instruments before and after each use. If an
instrument appears damaged and/or does not seem to function
properly, immediately send the instrument for repair or replacement.
This will prevent increasing operative time and needless
endangerment to the patient's life.
CAUTION:
Use each disposable skull pin for one procedure only.
Resterilization and subsequent reuse will impair the function of the
pin.
Instructions for Mounting Skull Pins
WARNING:
Before using this product, carefully read the product insert
for correct use and warnings associated with the specific skull clamp
model intended to be used.
1. Hold the skull pins between the thumb and the forefinger at the
plastic base.
2. Insert the pins into the skull pin receptacles on the skull clamp.
Push them in until they are seated firmly and cannot be inserted
any further into the receptacle.
CAUTION:
The skull pins must be fully seated so there is no gap between
the shoulder of the skull pin and the skull clamp (Figure 2). (This
does not apply to the MAYFIELD Triad Skull Clamp A-1108.)
