Application
Can be used in conjunction with:
• Pressurised storage heaters
• Thermally controlled instantaneous heaters
• Hydraulically controlled instantaneous heaters
Operation with low-pressure displacement water heaters is
not possible.
Specifications
• Flow pressure
- min.
- recommended
• Operating pressure max.
• Test pressure
A pressure reducer must be fitted if static pressures
exceed 5 bar.
Avoid major pressure differences between hot and cold water
supply!
• Flow rate at 3 bar flow pressure:
• Temperature
Hot water inlet:
Recommended:
Scalding protection possible by fitting a temperature limiter
(order no. 46 308).
• Water connection
Important:
Never install stopcocks in the outlet pipe (mixed water)
downstream of any built-in mixer.
Installation
Remove fitting template.
Flush pipes thoroughly.
Note:
First fit the diverter (A) before installing headpart 19 520, see
fold-out page I, Fig. [1].
1. Remove screw plug (B).
2. Screw diverter (A) into position using 17mm socket spanner
and tighten.
Flow rate limiter
This mixer is fitted with a flow rate limiter, permitting an
infinitely individual variable reduction in the flow rate.
The highest possible flow rate is set by the factory before
despatch.
The use of flow rate limiters in combination with hydraulic
instantaneous water heaters is not recommended.
For commissioning see "replacing the cartridge" point 1 to 6,
Fig. [2] to [7].
Install escutcheon and lever
• Screw on cap (C), see Fig. [3].
• Push on escutcheon (D) and secure with screws (E).
• Clip cover plate (G) into escutcheon (D).
• After removing cover cap (H) fit lever (J).
If the escutcheon will not slide far enough onto the cap, you
must additionally install an extension (46 191 = 25mm /
46 343 = 50mm), see replacement parts on fold-out page II.
Additionally seal the top edge of the escutcheon with silicone if
it is fitted against a particularly rough surface (deep tile joints,
highly textured tile).
Check mixer operation
Pull lever
Press lever down
Turn lever right
Turn lever left
0,5 bar
Check operation of automatic diverter (A),
1 - 5 bar
see fold-out page III, Fig. [4].
10 bar
16 bar
Pulling the lever will release water delivery.
On the bath mixer, water will always emerge from the lower
outlet first (i.e. bath spout).
Pressing diverter (A) will close the flow of water to the bath and
deliver water to the shower outlet.
approx. 27 l/min
On turning off the mixer, the diverter will be released auto-
matically so that when the mixer is turned on again, water will
(maximum) 80 °C
always emerge from the lower outlet first (i.e. bath outlet).
(energy saving) 60 °C
Maintenance
hot - left
I. Replacing the cartridge, see Figs. [5] to [7].
cold - right
1. Shut off the hot and cold water supply!
2. Pull off cover cap (H), see Fig. [5].
3. Screw out screw (K) and pull off lever (J), see Fig. [6].
4. Remove cover plate (G) as shown in Fig. [7].
5. Remove screws (E) and pull off escutcheon (D), see
Fig. [3].
6. Unscrew cap (C).
7. Remove screws (L) and detach cartridge (M).
8. Replace complete cartridge (M).
Assemble in reverse order.
Make sure that the cartridge seals engage in the grooves on
the housing. Fit screws (L) and tighten evenly and alterna-
tely.
II. Diverter, see Figs. [6] and [8].
1. Same procedure as steps 1 - 5 for cartridge maintenance.
2. Unscrew diverter (A), see Fig. [6].
3. Hold pushbutton (N) with rubber protected pliers, pull out
diverter plunger (O) and unscrew diverter spindle (P) from
the diverter housing (R) using a 4mm open-ended span-
ner, see Fig. [8].
Assemble in reverse order.
Inspect and clean all parts, replace as necessary and grease
with Grohe special grease (order no. 18 012).
Replacement parts, see fold-out page II ( * = special accesso-
