7. Lower the motor housing to 1-2" above the seal plate;
connect the leak detector probe lead (Figure 12).
Risk of hand or finger mutilation.
Block motor housing so it cannot fall before
attempting to connect leak detector probe.
8. Make sure the seal plate O-Ring is seated; bolt the
motor housing to the seal plate.
9. Lay the pump on it's side; install the inner seal, spring,
and C-clip retainer (Figure 13).

10. Install the outer seal in the back plate.
11. Install the O-Ring in the seal plate; install the back plate.
DO NOT damage the seal.
12. Install the outer seal spring, retainer, and impeller
shims.
13. Install the impeller, key, retainer, and impeller bolt (see
Figure 14

14. Install the free-standing legs (if used) on the volute;
stand the volute on it's feet.
15. Raise the pump with the hoist and lower the pump onto
the volute. Bolt the volute up to the seal plate. (see
Figure 15).

16. Connect the motor wiring to the underside of the termi-
nal board (see Figure 1, Page 2).
17. Fill the motor with dielectric oil until the top bearing is
covered (4-7/8 quarts).
18. Install the new motor terminal board gasket and seat the
terminal board.
19. Connect the cable wiring to the top of the terminal
board.
20. Install the O-Ring in the top of the motor housing; install
the motor terminal assembly cover.
21. Lean the pump over on its side. Fill the seal plate with 2-
5/8 quarts of oil; install the plug and tighten it.
22. Stand the pump up on it's feet; check for free rotation of
the impeller. The pump is ready for installation in the pit.
