pipes. The appliance must not be supplied with water of hardness less than 12°F, nor with especially hard water (greater
than 25°F); we recommend installing a water softener, properly calibrated and controlled - do not allow the residual hard-
ness to fall below 15°F. Before using the appliance, we recommend filling its tank with water and draining it completely
so as to remove any residual impurities.
Electrical connection
Before performing any operations, disconnect the appliance from the electricity mains using the external switch.
Before installing the appliance, carry out a careful inspection of the electrical system, ensuring it complies with the ap-
plicable norms in force, because the appliance manufacturer will not be held responsible for any damage caused by the
lack of earthing of the system or for faults in the electricity supply.
Check that the system is suitable for the maximum power absorbed by the water heater (please refer to the data plate)
and that the cross-section of the electrical connection cables is suitable and complies with current laws. The use of multi-
plugs, extensions or adaptors is strictly prohibited. If the appliance is supplied with a power supply cable, should the latter
need replacing, use a cable featuring 2 the same characteristics (type H05VV-F 3x1.5 mm
supply cable (type H05 VV-F 3x1.5 mm) is to be inserted in the proper hole situated in the back of the appliance and slide
it until it reaches terminal of the thermostat, then lock single cables by mean of the insulation base. To disconnect the unit
from the electrical supply use a bipolar, switch conforming to CEI-EN standards (contact opening at least 3 mm, better if
equipped with fuses). The appliance must be earthed and the earth cable (which must be yellow-green and longer than
that of the phases it is fixed to the terminal marked by the symbol
Block the power supply cord on the small cap using the special wire clamp provided. Before usage, make sure that the
supply voltage is in compliance with the rated values of the appliance. If the appliance is not supplied with a power supply
cable, choose one of the following installation modes:
- connection to mains with a rigid pipe (if the appliance has no cable clamp), use a cable with a minimum 3x1.5 mm
section;
- with a flexible cable (type H05VV-F 3x1.5 mm
Startup and testing the appliance
Before powering the appliance, fill the tank up with mains water.
The filling is carried out by turning on the domestic mains tap and the hot water tap, until the air is completely released.
Visually check for water leaks from the flange and slightly tighten it, if necessary.
Power the appliance at the switch.
MAINTENANCE REGULATIONS (for competent person)
CAUTION! Follow the general warnings and the safety norms listed at the beginning
of the text and keep to all the instructions given under all circumstances.
All maintenance operations and service visits should be performed by a competent person (who have the skills
required by the applicable norms in force).
Before calling your Technical Servicing Centre, check that the fault is not due to lack of water or power failure.
Emptying the appliance
The appliance must be emptied if it is to be left unused for a long period and/or in premises subject to frost. When neces-
sary, empty the appliance as follows:
- disconnect, in a permanent way, the appliance from the electricity mains;
- turn off the domestic mains tap (D fig. 2);
- turn on the hot water tap (wash basin or bathtub);
- open the drain valve B (fig. 2).
Replacing parts
Disconnect the appliance from the electrical mains. Remove the cover to work on the electrical parts.
To work on the thermostat, it is necessary to slide it out of its seat and disconnect it from the electricity mains. Before
handling the heating element and anode, empty the appliance.
Remove the 5 bolts (C fig. 3) and then the flange (F fig. 3). The heating element and anode are coupled to the flange.
When reassembling remember to replace the flange gasket, the thermostat and the heating element into their original
positions (fig. 3). When removing the above, we recommend replacing the flange gasket (Z fig. 4).
Only use original spare parts.
