Fault diagnosis
This chapter describes how to identify and remedy errors and malfunctions during the
operation of the safe bus node UE4215.
Stop the system if you cannot clearly identify or allocate the error and if you cannot
safely remedy the malfunction!
If you cannot remedy an error with the help of the information provided in this chapter,
please contact your local SICK representative.
On the occurrence of faults, first check the indicators on the safe bus node UE4215 to
determine whether there is a malfunction in the device.

Overload and short-circuit of the power supply outputs is signalled to the AS7interface
master (version 2.1) using the "Periphery fault" flag in the status register.
On the occurrence of faults, check not only the safe bus node UE4215, but also
the error indications on the connected device
and
the functional earth of the connected device.
During this process observe the operating instructions for the device connected.
Meaning
AS7interface communication without errors
AS7interface communication error, slave is not taking
part in "normal" data traffic, e.g. slave address 0
(device address not set)
Peripheral fault: ESPE power supply missing (overload
at the connections of the ESPE or the sender power
supply, black AS7interface cable not connected or
isolated, sensor power supply overloaded or short-
circuited)
No AS7interface voltage supply
AS7interface voltage supply o.k.
No current on input for the related socket
