C AFTER USE
54 Sit the iron on the base unit.
55 Press the 2 button – it will blink red.
56 Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
57 Clean the outside surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth.
58 Remove spots from the soleplate with a little vinegar.
59 Lift the iron off the base unit, wind the steam pipe into its niche above the reservoir and
cable storage, then sit the iron back on the base unit.
60 Open the cable storage, replace the plug and cable, and close the cable storage.
C THE ANTI-SCALE CARTRIDGE
61 To reduce scale build-up, you must change the anti-scale cartridge regularly.
62 After 10 hours of steaming, the O light will glow to tell you that the cartridge needs to be
replaced, and the boiler needs to be descaled.
63 Press the 2 button and hold it down for 5 seconds, to turn off the O light.
C REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES
64 For replacement cartridges, contact after sales service.
C CHANGING THE CARTRIDGE
65 Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
66 Lock the iron on top of the base unit.
67 Remove the reservoir.
68 Put a towel over the work surface, to catch drips.
69 You'll need access to water and a sink or basin.
70 Turn the whole appliance on its side, with the underside towards you.
71 Open the door of the compartment, and pull the anti-scale cartridge out.
72 Fit the new cartridge into the compartment, then close the compartment door.
73 Turn the appliance upright.
74 Descale the boiler every time you replace the cartridge.
C DESCALING THE BOILER
75 Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of warm water in a jug.
76 Unscrew the boiler access knob, to expose the boiler pipe.
77 Pick the base unit up, and empty the boiler into the sink.
78 Turn the appliance on its side, and pour the vinegar/water mix into the pipe.
79 Replace the boiler access knob, and tighten it up.
80 Shake the appliance, to ensure the mixture coats the whole of the inside of the boiler.
81 Leave it for half an hour.
82 Unscrew the boiler access knob, and pour the mixture into the sink.
83 Rinse the boiler with fresh water.
84 Keep rinsing till the water that comes out is clear, free of scale particles, and doesn't smell of
vinegar.
85 Replace the boiler access knob, and tighten it up.
86 Turn the appliance upright.
87 Replace the reservoir.
88 Wipe up any spillage.
