Interpreting Data

The data log records are stored in a comma-separated-values format that is easily imported into spreadsheet programs. The filename format is based on the year, month,
day and time that the session started in the format: yyyy.mm.dd_hh.mm.ss. It is recommended that you save these files in a folder named after the serial number of the
instrument being downloaded, simplifying file retrieval. Each file has a "header" (Table ) consisting of between 9 and 1 rows of information including the serial number,
session start date and time, user ID, data log interval, sensor information on alarm levels, last sensor test date and test gas levels.

Table – Typical Data Log Header
Below this header are the readings for each interval that the instrument has recorded data. There are columns for time, gas readings, calculated STEL and TWA levels for
CO and HS, sensor status, unit status, battery status and record type. The sensor status, unit status, battery status and record type use codes detailed in table 5.
Sensor status codes found
O – sensor is OK
in sensor status event and
I – inactive
datalog header
B – bad
D – sensor test due
E – error in sensor test data
F – full test required
Sensor status codes found in
