3.4 Installation
Sensors and actuators can be connected to the analogue
I/O modules depending on the sub−base used.
Please note
When connecting the sensors and actuators, note the
instructions in the manual "CPX analogue I/O mod
ules."
Use only screened/shielded cables for transmitting
analogue signals.
Caution
Long signal cables reduce the immunity to interference.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted I/O signal cable
length of 30 m.
Screening/shield
The following variants are permitted for connecting the
cable screening/shield:
the screening/shield connection on the FE pin of the
I/O plug without connection to further potentials
the external FE connection without connection to the
FE pin of the I/O plug
Recommendation:
Connect the cable screening/shield to both sides of the FE
with sufficient potential equalization. If the cable screen
ing/shield is connected only to one side of the FE, it
should be connected to the signal receiver side.
