Prepare the appliance for use, plugging it into a suitable
mains power socket, after completely freeing the power cord
from its winder hook.
Press the main switch (8) to switch on the appliance; the rele-
vant warning light (9) will switch on and the appliance is now
ready for use as a vacuum cleaner.
If you press the button (A4) on the handle (A6), the suction
function will begin to operate.
NOTE: When the suction function is on, the motor sets itself to
intermediate speed.
Pressing the button A5 once and holding it down increases
the suction power. Pressing twice and holding down the but-
ton A5, you can reduce suction power.
Should it be necessary, while using the appliance you can
remove and empty out the water container, as described in section 4.2 "Emptying and cleaning
the water container". In this case, the warning light (10) will begin to flash, indicating that the
container is not in its seating. As soon as the empty container has been correctly fitted into the
appliance, the warning light (10) will switch on and the appliance can be used again. However,
when the dirty water in the container reaches the maximum permitted level, a safety device will
automatically switch off the suction power. In this case too, the warning light (10) will begin to
flash and it is then necessary to empty out the container.
CAUTION: Reinsert the container correctly to guarantee correct suction operation.
When you have finished using the vacuum cleaner, you can switch off the appliance by pressing
the on/off button (8).
CAUTION: Do not vacuum up acids or solvents; these could cause serious damage to the
appliance. Above all, do not vacuum up explosive powders or liquids since, if these
come into contact with the internal parts of the appliance, they could explode.
CAUTION: Do not vacuum up hard or sharp objects; these could damage the appliance.
