For your own safety please observe the following:

3.1 General Information

Please read these instructions carefully before
using the pump. They are an essential part of
the NUK Electric Breast Pump and should
always be to hand.
The NUK Electric Breast Pump should only be
used
for
its
"2.1 Purpose" on page 12).
Check whether the necessary voltage on the
mains adapter 15 (see nameplate) is compati-
ble with the mains voltage.
Never immerse pump unit 1 in water, as there
is a danger of electrocution and the pump unit
may become damaged if water penetrates.
Never expose the device to direct sunlight, as
the UV rays and overheating may make the
plastic brittle.
Always keep pump and batteries away from
children, as the small parts can be swallowed
which may cause choking.
The batteries should be removed once they
are dead or if the device is not going to be
used for a while, as leaking batteries may
damage the device. Dead batteries should not
be disposed of with household waste but
taken to a special collection point.
Please note that any claim under guarantee or
for liability will be invalid if accessories are
used that are not recommended in these
instructions or if original spare parts are not
used for repairs. This also applies to repairs
undertaken by non-qualified persons.
If accessories from other manufacturers are
used, the pump may not function correctly.
In the event of a malfunction of the pump,
repairs may only be undertaken by the manu-
facturer, otherwise the warranty will be
invalid.

3. Safety Information

baby, it is essential that you follow your
doctors advice.
3.2 Pump Labelling
The following labels are to be found on pump
unit 1:

3.3 Hygiene
When handling breast milk, hygiene is of par-
ticular importance to ensure that your child
develops healthily.
Please observe Section "9. Cleaning and Steri-
lising" on page 18 to prevent infection or bac-
terial contamination and to prevent the device
from becoming damaged.
The pump unit should only be cleaned using
cleaning tube 11!
Only if the breast pump is carefully clea-
ned will it attain its full suction power.
Never open the casing of pump unit 1 and
never remove the red clamping ring
from the pump unit, as this will make
the warranty invalid.
