Do not attempt to hold the saw with one hand only.

Chain brake

The chain brake is released, e.g. by a kickback over the
hand guard (chain brake lever). The saw chain stops
abruptly.

Safety lock

The safety lock prevents accidental engine acceleration.
The gas lever can only be operated if the safety lock is
pressed inward.
