Maintenance and care

not authorized spar parts, remove or modification
of safety components can lead to dangerous
situation.
Clean chainsaw thoroughly after use.

Before maintenance and care work:
Turn off engine and allow to cool
Pull spark plug connector
Wear protective gloves
Sharpening saw chain
A correctly sharpened saw chain reduces kickback
danger and prevents excessive chain wear.
A sharp saw chain produces well formed chips. If the
chain produces sawdust, it must be sharpened.
Inexperienced users are recommended to let
the saw chain be sharpened by an expert.
22
When sharpening, only use a suitable tool:
Round chain file with Ø =4.0 mm.
File guiding.
Chain file holder.
Caution!
All cutting teeth must be the same length. Uneven
tooth lengths result in a rough running chain
resulting in a chain break.
The minimal length of the cutting teeth amounts to 4
mm (P). After that, change saw chain.
For simple regrinding, 2 to 3 file strokes from the
inside out are sufficient (O).
The angle to the cutting tooth must be maintained
(P).
Upon application of the proscribed sharpening tools
and proper handling, the stipulated values for angle A
and B (P) are automatically achieved.
After 3 to 4 personal sharpenings, have the saw
chain resharpened in an authorized workshop.
There, the depth limiter (P, distance D) is also
regrinded.
Cleaning chain sprocket interior
1.
Unscrew clutch cover.
2.
Clean interior with a brush.
3.
Remove saw chain and take out guide bar.
Guide bar
In order to avoid one-sided wear, the guide bar should
be turned in regular intervals (e.g. every 8 working
hours). Examine for damages.
Keep bar nut (Q/1) and oil feed hole (Q/2) clean. Take
care of prominent burrs (Q) with a file.
