During work always wear a helmet.
Always wear eye and face protection. This will protect the eyes, face and respiratory system from dust, combustion gases and
pieces of wood from cutting.
Always wear adequate close fitting protective clothing. Wear protective gloves and hearing protections.
Always operate the sawing machine keeping it with both hands. Keep the rear grip with the right hand, and the front grip with the
left hand.
During work protect loose bits of wood, so that they do not move, for example placing them on a sawing jack.
Avoid cutting wood placed on the ground. Avoid processing wood which is not protected from movement during cutting.
During work do not hold the sawing machine above the arm level. Do not operate the sawing machine standing on a ladder. Adopt
a position which does not imply reaching the full arm length.
Maintain the chain clean. The chain must be sharpened and lubricated. This will ensure efficient and safe work. The chain may be
sharpened at a specialised service point. Before each use the chain must be revised. In case the chain is broken, sprockets are
missing or it is damaged in any other way, it must be replaced before work may commence.
The grips of the sawing machine must be kept clean and free from any oils and lubricants.
In case any elements of the sawing machine are damaged work must be interrupted or must not be commenced. Damaged
elements must be replaced before work commences.
The sawing machine must be operated in accordance with its intended purpose. The sawing machine is meant exclusively to cut
wood. During work beware of metal elements or stones which may be hidden in the processed wood.
Use only original spare parts. Using other spares may increase the risk of failure and cause injuries. The sawing machine must
be repaired solely in authorised workshops, using original spare parts. This will reduce the risk of accidents and damage to the
equipment.
The sawing machine must be stored in a dry, closed and well ventilated room. If the sawing machine is stored for a long period of
time the fuel and oil tanks must be drained. The sawing machine must be maintained as described in Point 7.
6. OPERATION OF THE SAWING MACHINE
6.1. Preparation of the sawing machine for operation
Before first use, it is required to install the guide, cutting chain and the spiked bumper.
All chain assembly and adjustment actions must be realised while wearing protective gloves.
Make sure the reflection brake is in the back position. This will facilitate dismantling and assembly of the side panel.
Remove both fixing nuts and the side panel.
Attention! In certain models of the sawing machine there may be an oil installation sealing plate during transport. Before the guide
is installed the plastic sealing plate installed on the fixing bolts of the side panel must be removed.
If the plate is left, it will be impossible to lubricate the chain and the sawing machine may be irreversibly damaged.
Attach the spiked bumper with two bolts. (III)
Install the guide and the chain. (IV) The chain must be installed in accordance with the direction indicated on the links. Make sure
the chain has been properly placed in the guide groove, and install the side panel so as the tension adjustment protrusion matches
the correct hole of the guide.
Place the side panel nuts, but do not tighten them.
Adjust the chain tension (V), holding the upper part of the guide and turning the tensioning bolt of the chain until the chain is in the
lower part of the guide. Tighten the fixing nuts and check the tension of the chain moving it manually.
If required readjust the tension of the chain. Once the adjustment has been properly concluded tighten the fixing nuts.
Attention! A new chain will stretch during work. It is required to check the tension of the chain frequently. A loose chain may cause
damage to the guide and the chain itself.
Before the sawing machine is switched on, make sure there is lubricating oil in the container. The oil level must not be lower than
the indication of the minimum amount in the oil tank.
Make sure the reflection brake lever is in the rear position.
6.2. Filling fuel (VI)
The sawing machine is fuelled with a fuel mixture for two-stroke motors. It is prohibited to use pure fuel. Petrol must be mixed with
oil in proportions depending on the expected load. If the expected work time is below 20 hours, the petrol:oil proportion is 40:1.
If the work time exceeds 20 hours, petrol and oil must be mixed in the proportion of 45:1.
The mixture must be prepared before it is filled into the fuel tank. Mixing and filling of fuel must be carried out far from sources of
ignition. Do not smoke during filling fuel. Fuelling must be carried out at least three metres from the place of start-up and operation
of the sawing machine.
In order to protect the motor, use a high-quality unleaded petrol and high-quality oil for two-stroke air-cooled motors. Do not use
oil for four-stroke motors.
In case of fuel spillage, it is required to wipe out the spillage thoroughly before the sawing machine is started.
6.3. Filling chain lubrication oil (VII)
Use high-quality oil for sawing machine chains.
It is prohibited to use the sawing machine if the oil tank is not filled up. This might damage the chain, the guide and the mechanisms
