Removing the half mask
Release the buckle behind the neck, and then take off the half mask.
For HM502, once the buckle is released tilt gently the nose cup upwards while pulling the half
mask down to allow for smooth sliding without needing to take the head harness off.
Do not remove the mask before leaving the contaminated area. When removing the mask,
take all necessary precautions to avoid inhaling the dust or contaminant retained on the
external surface of the mask.
Cleaning and disinfection
1) Unscrew the filters from the connectors.
2) Wash the half mask with lukewarm soap water or in an ultrasound tub with EPI U-S 19a (P/N
1779065) in 3% watery solution. Do not use organic solvents or abrasive products for the cleaning.
3) Rinse the half mask thoroughly under clean running water.
4) Dry the half mask with a clean lint-free cloth and hang up neck strap in a well-ventilated area
away from sunlight.
5) Screw on the new filters after cleaning the half mask.
MAINTENANCE ______________________________________________________________________________
Perform a monthly inspection of the half mask to detect deteriorations, torn straps and face blank,
split seals and valves. Change the part immediately if any damage detected. Never use the half
mask until worn or damaged parts have been replaced. Follow the recommended maintenance
schedule. The date of manufacture is the means to identify half mask.
