Hot plugging is supported on the connection between the USB cable and your
computer. This means that the CD-RW drive USB cable can be disconnected
from and reconnected to your computer without the need to restart the
computer.
Follow these instructions to disconnect the drive:
1. Close the program that is using the drive.
2. Confirm that the WRITE and BUSY indicator of the drive are off.
3. Click the Remove (Unplug or Eject Hardware) icon . (By default this icon
is located next to clock display in the taskbar).
4. Select the USB 2.0 CD-RW drive to remove.
5. The Remove Hardware confirmation message displays. Click OK.
6. Remove the plug of the USB cable from the USB port of the computer.
7. To reconnect, plug the USB cable into the USB port of the computer.
Attention
Do not disconnect and reconnect the USB cable in rapid succession or the
CD-ROM drive might not load properly. After disconnecting the USB cable,
wait at least 10 to 20 seconds, or until the hourglass icon stops displaying,
before reconnecting the USB cable.
