OPERATION OF THE APPLIANCE

Installation and replacement of batteries
Open the battery compartment cover located in the bottom, rear sec-
tion of the appliance, remove the old batteries, and install new ones.
Observe the polarity. Batteries must always be replaced in sets. In
order to ensure a correct and long operation of the appliance, it is
recommended to use name-brand alkaline batteries.
In order to prolong the life of batteries, the laser indicator of the ap-
pliance turns off after approximately 20 seconds, while the power
supply is turned off after approximately 5 minutes from the last ac-
tivation of the button. A single set of alkaline batteries permits up to
5000 individual measurements.
Activation and deactivation of the appliance
In order to turn the appliance on, press the switch and hold it for
about 0.5 second. Release it, once the display has turned on.
In order to turn the appliance off, press the switch and hold it for
about 3 seconds. Release it, once the display has turned off. De-
activation of the appliance erases the last indication, but it is not
deleted from the measurements memory, and restores individual
measurements.
Modification of the unit of measurement
When the appliance is on, press the menu button until the unit in-
dicator starts to blink in the display. Then press the measurements
button, until the required unit of measurement starts to bling. Confirm
the selected unit pressing the switch button, after which the device
will go to the measurements mode. The units change in the following
sequence: metres - inches - feet - feet / inches.
Selection of the basis of measurements
Activate the appliance, press the menu button and hold it, until the
measurements basis indicator has changed.
There are two possible settings: from the upper edge of the range-
finder and from the lower edge of the rangefinder. The selection is
confirmed by the appearance of the measurements basis indicator.
Single measurement mode
Press the switch once, which will activate the laser indicator, point
the laser dot towards the place from which the distance is to be
measured, and then press the switch again. The rangefinder will
realise the measurement, and the result will be displayed in the field
of last measurement. In case of further measurements, results of
the previous measurements will move up the display to the field of
results of previous measurements, and simultaneously they will be
saved in the subsequent memory banks.
Measurements of surface area
ATTENTION! It is possible to measure the surface area of a single
rectangle at a time. Surfaces of distinct shapes must be divided into
rectangles, in order to measure them separately and then sum up
the results of the measurements.
Activate the appliance and select the adequate measurement ba-
sis. Press the menu button, until the indicator of measurements of
a rectangle surface area is displayed, with a blinking shorter side.
Press the measurement button, after which the laser indicator will
be activated. Press the measurement button to measure the shorter
side, after which the result of the measurement will be displayed
and the longer side of the rectangle will start to blink. Repeat the
