First of all, before using this appliance, unwind the power cord completely and plug the appliance
into the mains socket.
To switch on the appliance, press the foot switch (4) on the vacuum cleaner.
Important: In some cases, the appliance may "whistle" when switched on. This is not a fault and
the noise will go away with time.
Suction power adjustment
It is possible to regulate the suction power as required, using the relevant dial (2). We recommend
using a minimum power for delicate materials. Select medium suction power for mattresses, ups s
holstered furniture and carpets. Select maximum suction power for tiled, wood or other resistant
floors.
Secondary air valve (13)
The secondary air valve (13) is on the hand grip (12) and it is used to regulate suction power. The
wider the valve is opened, the less the suction power and vice versa.
s To open the valve, push it upwards and to close it, push downwards.
Open the valve to prevent curtains and the like from being sucked into the cleaner.
s Minimum suction power for curtains and delicate materials.
s Medium suction power for cushions, mattresses and carpets.
s Maximum suction power for tiled, wood or other resistant floor surfaces that are heavily soiled.
WARNING: Switch off the vacuum cleaner immediately if the air inlets, brushes or telescopic tube
become blocked. Remove the cause of the blockage before switching the vacuum cleaner on again.

After using the vacuum cleaner

Press on the foot switch (4) to switch off the appliance when you have finished cleaning.
After this, unplug the appliance and wind the cord back inside its housing by holding down the foot
operated rewinder button (1). The cord will rewind itself immediately inside its housing.
WARNING: While rewinding the power cord, guide it in the right direction by hand to prevent any
risk of injury to yourself.
Put away the appliance and if necessary, refit the floor brush (15) into its hook on the
back of the appliance (Fig. 5).
Carrying the vacuum cleaner
This vacuum cleaner has a handle on the top (10) for carrying purposes.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operation, switch off the appliance and
unplug it from the mains power.
The dirt vacuumed up will enter the dust container (5). The air is cleaned by a permanent washable
filter (8) inside the dust container and by a filter to protect the motor, located on the back of the
appliance (Fig. 10).
