- for cutting long grass slowly swing the tool from right to
left and vice versa
- for cutting shorter grass tilt the tool as illustrated
- turn the tool 180° for trimming edges
- hold tool firmly with both hands, so you will have full
control of the tool at all times
- maintain a stable working position
- always hold the tool well away from your body
• Replacing cutting blade ⑳
! remove battery from tool
- simply remove/mount old/new cutting blade as
illustrated
- after replacing the cutting blade test-run the tool for at
least one minute without load to ensure that the tool is
operating properly
- extend the service life of the cutting blade twice by
removing it, turning it 180°, and mounting it again

MAINTENANCE / SERVICE
• This tool is not intended for professional use
• Opening the housing shell can damage or destroy
the tool
• Keep tool, charger and cutting blades clean
! unplug charger from power source before
cleaning
! always remove the battery before cleaning
- clean cutting blade L ② and cutting guard A ② after
each use
- clean the tool with a damp cloth (do not use cleaning
agents or solvents)
- clean ventilation slots M ② regularly with a brush or
compressed air
• Regularly check the condition of the cutting head and
the tightness of nuts, bolts and screws
• Regularly check for worn or damaged components and
have them repaired/replaced when necessary
• Storage
- store the tool indoors in a dry and locked-up place,
out of reach of children
- securely mount storage rail N on the wall with 4 screws
(not supplied) and horizontally leveled
• If the tool/charger should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should
be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL
power tools
- send the tool or charger undismantled together with
proof of purchase to your dealer or the nearest SKIL
service station (addresses as well as the service
diagram of the tool are listed on www.skil.com)
- in case of a defective charger send both charger and
battery to your dealer or the SKIL service station
TROUBLESHOOTING
• The following listing shows problem symptoms, possible
causes and corrective actions (if these do not identify
and correct the problem, contact your dealer or service
station)
! switch off the tool and remove the battery before
investigating the problem
★ Tool operates intermittently
- internal wiring defective -> contact dealer/service
station
- on/off switch defective -> contact dealer/service
station
★ Tool vibrates abnormally
- grass too high -> cut in stages
★ Tool does not cut
- cutting blade broken off -> replace cutting blade
ENVIRONMENT
• Do not dispose of electric tools, batteries,
accessories and packaging together with
household waste material (only for EU countries)
- in observance of European Directive 2012/19/EC
on waste of electric and electronic equipment and
its implementation in accordance with national law,
electric tools that have reached the end of their life
must be collected separately and returned to an
environmentally compatible recycling facility

! remove the battery before disposal of the tool
• The battery must be kept separate from the natural
environment and should not be disposed of as normal

! prior to disposal protect battery terminals with
heavy tape to prevent short-circuit
- dispose of the battery at an official collection point for
batteries
! batteries may explode when disposed of in fire,
so do not burn battery for any reason
