Cascade settings menu

If a cascade module is installed, the menu Service menu > Cascade
settings is displayed on the control unit (not available for all control
units). If this menu is not available in the installed control unit, the
cascade module uses the default settings. These settings can be
changed with an appropriate control unit even if the control unit is only
temporarily connected.
The factory settings are shown in bold in the setting areas.
Menu item
Setting area: function description
Offset header
0 ... 20 K: The flow temperature demanded by the control is
sensor
changed by this value.
Set temp.
20 ... 90 °C: Maximum flow temperature of the cascade at the
cascade max
low loss header.
Casc.pump
0 ... 3 ... 10 min: The heating pump (secondary side) connected
overrun time
to the cascade module runs longer for the time set here than
there is a heat demand.
Flow temp.
20 ... 70 ... 90 °C: In the control strategy "Serial cascade with peak
peak load
load coverage" (coding switch at position 3), the heat sources
necessary to cover the peak load are connected if the flow
temperature demanded by the control exceeds the value set here.
Outside temp.
– 25 ... – 2 ... 20 °C: In the control strategy "Serial cascade with
peak load
peak load coverage" (coding switch at position 3), the heat
sources necessary to cover the peak load are connected if the
outside temperature falls below the value set here.
Start-up delay
1 ... 6 ... 20 min: Once a heat source is connected, the control
next device
waits for the time set here until the next device is connected.
Tolerated
0 ... 5 ... 10 K: To reduce the device cycles, the heat sources are
overtemp.
only switched off if the flow temperature exceeds the desired
set temperature by the tolerated overtemperature (positive
switching differential).
Tolerated
0 ... 5 ... 10 K: To reduce the device cycles, the heat sources are
undertemp.
only switched on if the flow temperature falls below the desired
set temperature by the tolerated undertemperature (negative
switching differential).

Diagnosis menu

The menus depend on which control unit and system is installed.
Monitored values
If a MC 400 module is installed, the menu Monitored values > Cascade
is displayed.
This menu allows you to call up information on the current status of the
system and the individual devices in the cascade. For example, you can
display the level of the system's flow and return temperature, or the
current device performance.
If a MC 400 module is installed, the menu Monitored values > System
information > Cascade is displayed.
This menu allows you to call up information on the module MC 400
(Cascade module type, Cascade module SW vers.) and the individual
devices in the cascade (e.g., Control device 1 type, Control device 1
SW vers.).
The information and values that are provided depend on the system that
has been installed. Observe the technical documentation for the heat
source, control unit, additional modules and other system components.

System data menu

Call up the menu Service menu > System data on the control unit.
Menu item
Setting area: function description
Low loss hdr. sensor
• Boiler: At the boiler: Only use the standard setting if
instll.
a low loss header is available in the cascade system.
• No: No low-loss header: Use this setting if a heat
exchanger or a serial hydraulic system with butterfly
valve is used.
