NOTE! Notes contain other information that is important for personnel.
2.1

General

Transport the dust collector to the installation place while still in its factory packing. Dust
collectors with legs, which is the most common model, should be transported to the
installation place still bolted to its pallet in order to prevent it from overturning during
transport.
The dust collector should be anchored to a hard, level and firm foundation.
WARNING!
Burning or glowing material must not be sucked into the dust collector. A glowing cigarette
can start a fire in the collected material or in the filter socks. Sparks from welding or metal
grinding are not normally a problem as they are extinguished in the vacuum hose. The
dust collector is designed for fitting of an optional thermal fuse that breaks a control circuit
stopping the vacuum unit should the temperature rise too far.
NOTE! For plasma cutting and other processes creating a great deal of hot material a
suitable pre-separator should be installed.
Standard supply voltage for control units and accessories is 24 V DC. Special designed
control units and dust collectors, with a supply voltage higher than 24 V AC/DC, must be
grounded. Since the touchable metal surface area is large, earthing is recommended also
for 24 V installations. Earthing also helps reducing the build-up of static electricity.
Static electricity frequently occurs in dust collectors. FlexFilter modules have rubber sealing
rings conducting electricity. Therefore, earthing of just one of the modules is sufficient in
most cases. (In some cases, grounding of the piping system is also recommended.)
Compressed air pressure must not exceed 1 MPa (10 bar, 145 PSI). Normal working
pressure is 0.6–0.7 MPa (6–7 bar, 85–100 PSI) The compressed air supply must be shut
off and any residual compressed air released before service is carried out. Complete
