Overview

The ODS-L30M PetaSite Master Unit is a library master
unit that holds up to two optional drive units (ODS-D77F)
and up to 30 optical disc archive cartridges. The PetaSite
can be expanded according to your needs through the
addition of multiple extension units to the ODS-L30M
master unit. By efficiently allowing read/write of data on
multiple optical disc archive cartridges, the ODS-L30M
allows you to streamline the archiving of data materials
and the retrieval of archived data materials (by uploading
to a server).
The extension units include the ODS-L60E PetaSite drive
and ODS-L100E PetaSite cartridge extension units. The
ODS-L60E holds up to four optional drive units
(ODS-D77F) and up to 61 optical disc archive cartridges.
The ODS-L100E holds up to 101 optical disc archive
cartridges.
The ODS-D77F optical disc archive drive units that can be
mounted on the ODS-L30M and ODS-L60E are equipped
with two heads and are specifically designed for use with
the ODS-L30M/L60E. In addition, their Fibre Channel
support allows for high-speed processing.
You can also install the ODBK-101 (for the ODS-L30M)
or the ODBK-102 (for the ODS-L60E) optional power
supply to provide redundancy and allow the same hot
swapping capabilities that are available with drive units.
Doing so provides continuous operation in the event one of
the power supply units or drive units fail in systems that
require a high degree of reliability.
In this manual, the PetaSite (including the master unit and
all additional extension units) on which the drive units are
installed will be referred to as "the unit," and the optical
disc archive cartridges will be referred to as "cartridges."
