Setting-up the appliance
Raise the lid of the water tank and remove
•
the water tank to fill it (1) (2).
Maximum capacity 1.8 L, which is about 26
cups of espresso.
Replace the water tank and press down
•
firmly so that the lower valve opens. Close
the lid again (3) (4).
For a good cup of coffee, it is recommended
that you observe the following points:
•
Empty the water tank after use.

Change the water daily.
Do not use mineral water or distilled water.
•
Clean the water tank at least once a week.
•
Before using your espresso
maker for the first time
Plug in the appliance.
•
Rinse the heating system thoroughly by
•
running through one or two tanks of fresh
water (without a capsule or capsule holder).
•
Introduce the empty capsule holder into the
fixing ring: to do this, position the handle at
about 90° to the left then turn(5).
Once in place with a capsule, the handle
should be facing you or very slightly offset to
the left.
• Place a container, as large as possible, under
the capsule holder and another under the
steam/ hot water outlet. The function
selector must be in position «
•
Engage the on/off switch (7). The thermos-
tat indicator light (yellow) will come on.
•
Once the yellow light goes out (which
means the machine is hot), set the hot
water/ steam selector to position « ».
Allow half a water tank to run through via
the coffee outlet by turning the function
selector to position «

». The remainder of the water
will thus rinse the steam/ hot water circuit
(9).
Preparing an espresso
•
Fill the water tank with fresh water.
To preheat the capsule holder, leave it in

place in the fixing ring (but empty, with no
capsule)
•
Turn the function selector to «

temperature indicator light (yellow) has gone
out.
