Temperature / air setting
In order to make it possible to set the desired temperature or air flow-rate, the corresponding
channel has to be selected with the `1-2-3' key. Activation of the `UP' or `DOWN' key will alter
the temperature or the air function in the appropriate direction for channels 1, 2 or 3.
If the key is held down continuously, the value selection will change rapidly.
Variance display
The standard value displayed is the actual value of the selected channel, when the symbol
`°F` is continuously visible for channels 1, 2 and 3, and for the air flow-rate setting the `AIR'
symbol is continuously visible. A brief touch of the `UP' or `DOWN' key will produce a display
of the set value for approx. 4 seconds, whereupon the corresponding symbol `°F' or `AIR' will
flash on the display. After approx. 4 seconds, the display will automatically switch to the
actual value.
The system is designed such that only the set value is indicated where a hot gas bit is
operated.
Timer
The WRS3000 control unit is also equipped with a timer function. This timer enables previously
set temperatures of individual channels to be set back to 300°F. The set-back period can be
set in 5-minute stages and will start after the last operation. The set-back period can be set
to a maximum of 60 minutes. It is possible to adjust different set-back period for individual
channels.
On operation of the hot-air pencil, the timer fulfils the function of time-limiting the airflow,
and can be set in 1-second stages up to a maximum of 60 seconds (same for all channels).
Setting of the timer
The timer function is not activated in the standard setting. Before setting the timer, the
desired channel must be selected by means of the `1-2-3' key. Next, the `TIMER' key is
activated and the clock symbol and the `000' sign will appear in the display. In order to
activate the timer function, the `UP' and `DOWN' keys must be pressed simultaneously within
approx. 4 seconds. As long as the key-operated switch (12) is not in the locked position, the
desired setback time can be set with the "UP" or "DOWN" key. If the key is continuously
pressed down, then the set value will change rapidly. If a hot-gas pencil is used, then the set
value can be changed in 1-second stages by pressing the required direction key, or in 5-
second stages for other tools. Approx. 4 seconds after the last input, the display will

automatically switch to the actual value for the set channel.
Timer function re-set
Every channel has a timer. The timers can be set and reset independently. Select the desired
channel with the "1-2-3" key and confirm with the keys "UP", "DOWN" or "TIMER". The
programmed setpoint will be displayed for a short time, and the display will then return to
the actual value.
Timer function switch-off
The desired channel is selected by means of the `1-2-3' key, then the `TIMER' key is pressed.
Set the value to "000" with the "DOWN" key. The timer function is now deactivated.
Key switch
If the key-operated switch is in the locked position, all input functions are blocked. Therefore,
only inquiries are possible in this position.
Reset function
This function is used to return the control unit to the basic setting. It is necessary to switch
off the unit, wait approx. 10 seconds, then hold down the keys "TIMER" and "1-2-3" while
switching on the unit until the self-test is concluded and "FSE" (Factory Setting) appears on
the display.
All temperature settings should now be at 662°F, the timer function should be switched off
and the air supply set to 50%.

Temperature offset

The temperature control of the WRS 3000 is harmonised to the average value of the available
range of solder tips. Tolerance is ±18°F for soldering and de-soldering bits. For hot-air tools,
tolerance is ±55°F. Individual channels can be re-calibrated for special applications.
For this purpose, the temperature offset (difference between the measuring instrument display
and the control unit display) is ascertained by means of the corresponding measurement
peaks and an external temperature measuring instrument. The adjustment function can be
activated by simultaneously pressing the `TIMER' and `1-2-3' keys, which is indicated by
flashing of the `C' symbol. The temperature offset can be corrected within the range ± 72°F
