Sun Fire V880 Server Short Rear
Bracket Rackmounting Supplement
These instructions describe how to install a Sun Fire™ V880 server into a 31.5-inch
(80-cm) depth (rail-to-rail) rack using the short rear brackets supplied with the Sun
Fire V880 Server Rackmounting Kit, Sun part X9628A. These instructions are a
supplement to the Sun Fire 880 Server Rackmounting Guide (806-6594-10), which is
included in the rackmounting kit. You need this guide to safely and correctly install
the system into a rack.
Note – You can only install one Sun Fire V880 server into a Sun Fire Expansion
Cabinet, Sun part SF-XCAB.
Addition to Rackmounting Kit Inventory
The Sun Fire V880 server rackmounting kit contains two short rear brackets that are
not listed in the Kit Inventory in the Sun Fire 880 Server Rackmounting Guide. These
rear brackets are for installing the Sun Fire V880 server into a 31.5-inch (80-cm)
depth (rail-to-rail) rack. The short rear brackets are in a bag labeled 560-2682-01 in
the rackmounting kit.
The following illustration shows the additional short rear brackets.
