u)
Check that all the AUT-0-MAN selectors of the main pumps and of the compensating
pump, if fitted, have been turned back to "AUT".
v)
Completely reopen all the interception valves that may have been choked.
(*)
When turned on only partly the pressure in the system will decrease slowly and gradually, allowing a more
precise reading of the pressure gauge at the time of closing the pressure switch.
(**) If the operating electropump puts the system back under pressure too quickly, partly turn off the interception
valve on the delivery of the pump. In this way the pressure will increase slowly and gradually, allowing a more
precise reading of the pressure gauge at the time of opening the pressure switch.
5.10.
CHECKING OPERATION OF THE AUTOMATIC INVERTER SE2 (FOR SETS WITH TWO PUMPS) - SE3 (FOR
SETS WITH THREE PUMPS).
a) Turn the AUT-0-MAN selector of the compensating pump, if fitted, to 0, as this pump is not subjected to the
automatic inverter.
b) Turn the AUT-0-MAN selector of pump No.1 to AUT and the selector of pump No. 2 (and No. 3 for sets with three
pumps) to 0.
c) Partly turn on the flow at delivery and wait for pressure switch No. 1 to give the command to start pump No. 1.
d) Turn off the flow.
e) Turn the AUT-0-MAN selector of pump No.2 to AUT and the selector of pump No. 1 (and No. 3 for sets with three
pumps) to 0.
f)
Partly turn on the flow at delivery, checking that, in this second case, at the starting pressure of pump No. 1 the
automatic inverter SE2 (or SE3 for sets with three pumps) starts pump No.2.
g) Turn off the flow.
h) Finally, in sets with three pumps, turn the AUT-0-MAN selector of pump No. 3 to AUT and the selectors of pumps
No. 1 and No. 2 to 0.
i)
Partly turn on the flow at delivery, checking that, in this case, at the starting pressure of pump No. 1 the automatic
inverter SE3 starts pump No. 3.
l)
Turn off the flow.
Once the above control has been completed:
Reposition all the AUT-0-MAN selectors of the main pumps and of the compensating
pump, if fitted, in position AUT.
To test CASCADE operation of all the pumps, completely turn on the flow so as to bring the pressure down below the
starting pressure of the second pump (for sets with two pumps) or of the third pump (for sets with three pumps). In this
case all the pumps in the set start at intervals of about 0,4 seconds from one another.
CHECKING CALIBRATION OF THE SAFETY OR BYPASS VALVE
5.11.
When present, this valve is fitted on the delivery manifold of the booster sets and connected to the suction manifold, or
with a drain for waste water.
When it is fitted with a drain, convey the waste water to a suitable place.
This valve is set at a certain pressure depending on the type of pump, beyond which it opens automatically, thus
protecting the system against excess pressures which could occur in the event of abnormal functioning of the booster set
or in particular working conditions.
To check the pressure at which this valve opens, run only one pump, keeping the respective AUT-0-MAN selector in
MAN position.
Looking at the pressure gauge on the delivery manifold of the set, you will see that the pressure continues to rise until a
value at which the safety/bypass valve opens, so this is the pressure value at which the valve is calibrated.
At the end of the test, return the pump selector to "AUT" position.
