12) Fit one of the two gudgeon pin circlips (5) to piston (2). Lubricate
piston ring groove and carefully fi t piston ring (3).

15) Fit the cylinder base gasket (7).
16) Lubricate the cylinder liner (previously chamfered, washed and
blow-cleaned). Position the piston ring at the suitable retainer on
the piston and slowly insert the cylinder.
17) Move the crankshaft for two or three turns (holding the cylinder
with your hand), to ensure proper fi tting.
18) Fit the O-rings (8), (9) and (10) in their seats, smear them with
grease to ensure they stay in place.
19) Insert the head onto the stud bolts; make sure that the O-rings
stay in place.
20) Tighten the head nuts in a cross pattern and in a few steps to a
tightening torque of 1.2±0.1 kgm (approx. 12±1 Nm).
21) Fit the O-ring (13) to the water hose union (11), smear with grease.
Then fi t the union to the head and secure with screws (12).
22) Fit the cooling system hoses, the temperature sensor and the
NEW spark plug (see "Important notes").
23) Fill the cooling circuit and refi t all scooter parts, start the engine
for a few minutes; top up if necessary.
Running-in is very important because it allows to all the new parts to
gradually settle. Failure to follow the rules set for the running-in period
could cause damages or strange deformations that would lead to a
loss of power or likely seizure. We therefore recommend not using the
scooter to the maximum speed for about 300 km.
