11. Maintenance
In order to carry out maintenance, repairs or cleaning, first disconnect the unit from the
compressed air system (Gravity Version) and the Reboiler (Pressure Version).
Do not apply excessive force or inadequate tools for maintaining and cleaning the unit. Some
repairs must be done with special tools on some occasions. In these cases, you must contact
the Customer Service of SAGOLA. Any handling of this product by non-authorised personnel
would render the warranty null and void.
The unit must be overhauled on a periodic basis to check the status of its components and
replace these when they are not in perfect condition.
IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE BEST POSSIBLE RESULTS, ALWAYS USE ORIGINAL SPARES.
ENSURE TOTAL INTERCHANGEABILITY, SAFETY AND OPERATION.
Changing the self-adjusting Packing gland
The needle gaskets that form part of the packing gland are gun components that should be
replaced when malfunctions occur or when there is a loss of air tightness.
11.1. Gun head packing gland
In order to replace the packing and/or the bushing, remove the product regulator and extract
the product needle and spring fitted with its stop. Remove the air nozzle and using the SAGOLA
accessory wrench do the same with the fluid tip. Using the right screwdriver, unscrew and
remove the packing gland, bushings, spring and packing in that order.
Replace the damaged packing by placing it in its housing inserted in the needle. Then mount
the bushings, spring and packing gland on the packing in that order, screwing the packing gland
right down.
Mount the product needle, spring fitted with its stop and product regulator in that order.
Mount the fluid tip by blocking it with the accessory wrench and air nozzle
11.2. Air valve gasket
In order to replace the air valve gasket, remove the product regulator and extract the product
needle and spring fitted with its stop. With a 9 mm Allen wrench, remove the guide box, extracting
the valve spring, the valve and the bushing support. With a 6 mm Allen wrench, remove the
packing gland and extract the gasket. Replace the packing gland and the gasket (supplied in
the specific kit) and follow the reverse procedure.
