CONDITIONS FOR USE AND STANDARDS
- The safety helmet - The F1E safety helmet is exclusively intended for protection against fire, for rescue / salvaging
operations, highway emergency operations and in general for all tasks defined by the fire-fighter function. Any other use is
excluded and removes any responsibility on the part of MSA GALLET.
The F1E safety helmet equipped with its full woollen protector meets the 89/686/CE directive and is certified according to
EN443:2008 with the following options:

The F1E safety helmet provides protection of the head and face against shocks, sharp objects, projection of solid, liquid,
corrosive, chemical products (NaOH, H2SO4, n-heptane, p-xylene, butane-1-ol...), molten metals, radiating heat, flames,
electric current. In situations where the conditions exceed those described in the specifications mentioned above, the
protection of the user is not guaranteed.
Weight without accessories: 1725±50 grams (integral woollen neck curtain included)
Head size range: 58-65 cm
The safety helmet includes the facilities that enable the adaptation of a communication and illumination system, a
breathing apparatus and a protector.
Warning! A safety helmet bearing a conformity mark with EN443, if it is accompanied with another individual protection
equipment or accessory (other than those stipulated by the safety helmet manufacturer), may no longer conform to all the
articles of the standard. Refer to the present notice.
- Face shield l - The transparent or goldplated face shield meets the 89/686/CE directive and is certified according to
EN14458:2004.
This shield is meant to assure protection against various risks likely to arise during firefighting interventions, ambulance and
emergency services, except respiratory and smoke and gas / vapour emission risks. The shield resists the projection of
chemical products identical to those of the safety helmet mentioned above.
The goldplated face shield has a resistance to solar filters by meeting the EN172:1995. Its scale is: 5-2.5.
- Safety goggles
The safety goggles ensure protection of the eyes against projectiles. They comply with European standards for "Individual
eye protection": EN 166:95, EN 167:95, EN 168:95 "Specifications, test methods", EN 170:92 "Filters for ultraviolet -
Transmission and usage specifications recommended".
These goggles are Optical Class 3 (EN166), Increment No. 3-1.2 (EN 170).
The EC type examination approval number is: 0070/191/085/02/00/0030.
Permanent marking on goggles: Gallet 3B EN166-B CE (Gallet: Manufacturer – 3: Optical Class – B: Mechanical resistance of goggles
to medium energy impact – EN166: European Standard –
-B: helmet used for protection against particles projected at medium speeds – CE: Symbol).
Warnings!
- The vision glasses worn under a face shield can be damaged during an impact and can pose
risk of injury for the wearer.
- Any shield that has been dropped or damaged must be replaced.
- The performances of the facial shield are applicable only when it is in lowered position. The
shield must be in up position under the cap when using a SCBA basic apparatus (SCBA).
- It is best to use equipment not marked "T" only at non-extreme ambient temperatures.
- Materials that come into contact with the wearer's skin can cause allergies in sensitive
individuals.
