CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location.
Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that
application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring
the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the
service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion
inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and
may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and
specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to
parts and systems.
Pickup Box Endgate Latch Handle Bezel
1. Remove bolt prior to releasing latch handle bezel from endgate
outer panel. (see Figure 1)

2. Release the 3 retainer clips securing the bezel to the endgate
outer panel. Lift endgate latch handle in order to aid in removal
of latch handle bezel.
3. Remove remaining 2 Pickup Box Endgate Latch Handle Bolts.
(See Figure 2)

4. Release all rods from endgate latch handle, and remove
endgate latch handle.
Installation of New Endgate Handle
5. Align new endgate latch handle using (3) holes in endgate.
Install (2) bolts from step 3, but do not tighten.
6. Re-install rods to latch handle.
NOTE: Use provided endgate bezel with lock cylinder if
provided. (A lock cylinder is required with the Chrome
Endgate Handle)
7. Install endgate latch handle bezel, by snapping the (3) clips
into place and securing with bolt from step 1. Do not tighten.
Verify lock cylinder lever is properly engaged with latch handle
assembly.
8. Tighten (3) bolts to 25 N•m (18 lb. ft.).
NOTE: If your kit contained a new Bezel with lock cylinder
proceed with the next steps to code your lock.
9. Remove protective label.
10. Fully insert key intended for everyday use.
11. Rotate key 180 degrees clockwise while maintaining full key
insertion. A "snap" is audible indicating lock is coded to key
groove.
12. Lock is now fully coded and ready for everyday use.
