Rear Bumper Protective Film
Please Read the Following Helpful Hints Prior to Installing Film
CLEAN VEHICLE SURFACE ENTIRELY - ANY DIRT OR DEBRIS WILL CAUSE A POOR INSTALLATION
Do not pressure wash car for 24 hours after film installation.
Recommended surface temperature 61-80 Degrees F.
Do not use Petroleum based cleaning products. If a strong cleaner is required, use only with a clean cloth to remove any contaminates (road
tar, etc.). It may take the use of several clothes to obtain a clean surface. It is important to replace the cloth when soiled so that contaminates
are not spread back onto the vehicle. After using the solvent for cleaning use an alcohol wipe for the application area.
HELPFUL FILM INSTALLATION HINTS:
• Only handle part by its handling tabs.
• The film can be lifted to remove trapped bubbles, but lifting it may lead to other issues (contamination/stretching the film) and should be
avoided unless necessary.
• Do not touch urethane against vehicle with fingers (use squeegee only). Heat from hands will activate adhesive and cause possible bubble
entrapment.
• After applying, always remove premask by pulling it back against itself, 180 degrees (see photo) . IF YOU DON'T, IT WILL PULL THE FILM
FROM THE VEHICLE, CREATING AIR BUBBLES THAT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO RESEAL.
NOTE: Some parts may contain a clear release liner opposed to paper.
A heat gun may be used to help seal the edges of the film.
HELPFUL SQUEEGEE HINTS:
• Always start from one area and work your way all the way to an edge. (i.e. center>>>out, one end>>>other end)
• After the first squeegee stroke, always start squeegee over a wetted area for subsequent strokes. Never start in a new spot, this will "trap"
fluid, air, etc.
• Angle squeegee at about 45 degrees to the surface.
• Apply a significant amount of pressure to the squeegee during wet-out strokes.
• Once film is applied enough to hold its location, use both hands on the squeegee to help apply adequate pressure.
