2 - SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

The resulting values, according to the auxiliary tools which have been used, have turned out to be high, since they
overcome the reference limit of 2.5 m/s
The following obligations have to be fulfilled:
• The operator shall undergo a periodic check up.
• The operator shall be informed about the vibrations risks.
• The tool can be used continuously no more than 6 hours per day.

2.1.2 General precautions

WARNING!
• Always wear the adequate and suitable safety clothing for the work to be carried out. Wear a protective helmet,
avoid loose clothing, ties, necklaces, belts or long hair, if not properly tied, which could get caught in moving parts.
• Do not operate, service or repair the equipment if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs which could
impair your alertness or co-ordination.
• Only well trained and qualified personnel are allowed to use the equipment.
• Keep children and animals away from the equipment.
• Never alter the safety and protective devices (safety catch and guard).
• Do not use the tool when you are in unstable position or off balance.
• It is forbidden to operate the tool on ladders.
• Keep your free hand away from the operating tool.
• The operator is the only responsible for injuries caused to other people or for damage caused to their properties.
• Before effecting any repairs or maintenance work, insert the safety catch and remove the air hose from the shear.

2.2 Tool operating precautions

• Make sure that the maximum air pressure setting in the compressor is 1000 kPa (10 bar). Higher pressure values could cause
excessive wear in the tools.
• When the tool is connected to the compressed air supply, but it is not being used, make sure that the safety catch on the
handle is automatically engaged.
• The user shall be held responsible for any accidents or dangerous situations affecting other people or their property.
• Make sure you are in a steady and safe work position.
• Tools and machines shall be strictly used for the purposes described in par. "Product Description". Other uses could cause
injuries and/or damages.

2.3 Maintenance

• Routine maintenance and repairs can be carried out only by an operator with the necessary physical and intellectual
qualifications.
• Special maintenance and repairs can be carried out only by a service mechanic.
• Keep bystanders away when servicing or repairing the machine.
• Only service mechanics are authorized to inactivate the safety devices provided on the machine when maintenance is to
be performed. It is their responsibility to safeguard the operators and the machine. The safety devices should be activated
as soon as maintenance work has been completed.
• Before performing any maintenance procedures or adjustments to the tool, disconnect the air supply hose.
• All maintenance procedures not dealt with in this manual are to be performed at Authorised CAMPAGNOLA S.r.l. Service
Points.
• When maintenance or repairs have been completed, the machine can be started again only if duly authorized by the
service mechanic. The service mechanic must make sure:
- work has been completed;
- the tool runs in a trouble-free manner;
- the safety devices are activated;
- no one is working on the tool.
