KPS-MA10 • Isolation, voltage and continuity meter
thus optimum.
Caution: never turn the function selector while the Test button is pressed.
This may damage the device. Never touch the circuit being tested during
the insulation test.
When the test is completed make sure that the Test button is not pressed
before disconnecting the testing tips.
The reason for this is that the system may be charged and you must discharge
it through the internal discharge resistor.
Continuity test (under resistance)
Caution: Make sure that the circuit is not activated before making the
test.
1 - Select the 20Ω interval by turning the function selector and connect the
testing tips to the device in the input terminals.
2 - Put the testing tips together. Press and keep the Test button by turning it
90º clockwise. The display will show the testing tips resistance. Use the
"0Ω" potentiometer to set the reading to zero, just in case it is not zero.
3 - Connect the testing tips to the circuit or component to be tested. Make
sure that the circuit is not active, by checking that the red LED is not
lighting.
4 - Read the value of the resistance in the LCD. If that resistance is lower
than 10Ω, the continuity beeper will sound. If it is higher than 20Ω, the
overscale symbol 1 will be shown. Place the selector in the scale over
