4. MEASURING METHODS

4.1 To take into account when using the device
Keep in mind all these safety warnings when the function selector is in the
200MΩ position (250, 500V) or in the 2000 MΩ position (1000V).
Connect the testing tips of the device to the circuit to be measured before
pressing the test switch.
Do not touch the metallic parts of the clamps or the testing tips when you are
pressing the test switch.
Some equipments and components (specially the cables) may keep electric
charges when they are disconnected from the mains. You must discharge that
equipment with earth straps or similar, before touching them or making any
connections. The instrument will automatically discharge the testing circuits
when the charge test switch is released.
IMPORTANT
Disconnect any possible supply to the circuit to be measured when measuring
the resistance. If there is any voltage in the testing circuit, the red LED in the
frontal panel of the device will start lighting. Immediately disconnect the testing
tips and the power supply to the circuit.
