Skid Shoe Adjustment
The space between the skid shoes and the ground can be adjusted.
• For close snow removal on a smooth surface, raise skid shoes on
the auger housing.
• For snow removal on a rough surface such as a gravel driveway,
lower the skid shoes on the auger housing.
To adjust the skid shoes:
1. Place a block of wood (2 x 4) beneath the shave plate to
temporarily raise the snow thrower's auger housing off the ground.
See Figure 11.
2. Loosen the four hex nuts (two on each side) and carriage bolts.
Move skid shoes to desired position. See Figure 12.
3. Retighten nuts and bolts securely.
4. Carefully remove the wood block. Make certain the entire bottom
surface of skid shoe is against the ground to avoid uneven wear on
the skid shoes. Readjust if necessary.
Chute Bracket Adjustment
If the spiral at the bottom of the chute directional control is not fully
engaging with the chute assembly, the chute bracket can be adjusted.
To do so:
1. Loosen the two nuts which secure the chute bracket and reposition
it slightly. See Figure 13.
2. Retighten the nuts.
Tire Pressure
Before operating, check tire pressure and reduce pressure to between
15 psi and 20 psi.
If the tire pressure is not equal in both tires, the unit may pull to one
side or the other.
