Terminal types

A - fl oor circuit
B - fan coil
C - radiator
1 - terminals without room thermostat
2 - terminals with room thermostat;1 zone
3 - terminals with room thermostat; multiple zone
S - room temperature sensor
* bypass valve; needed in case the room thermostats can
stop the water fl ow in the terminal (2 way valves)
Floor circuit is the recommended terminal, because it
ensures best energy effi ciency.
Combined terminals
Combined terminals are used to increase the number of
heating / cooling zones or to use diff erent kind of terminals
within the same zone.
It is possible to connect in parallel diff erent terminals. Put
before each fl oor terminal a thermostatic valve and before
terminals that should not operate in cooling mode a stop
valve.

Floor terminal is multiple zones and controlled by room
thermostats.
Fan coil terminal is single zone and controlled by one or
more room thermostats.
Radiator terminal is single zone without room thermostat;
in this zone the temperature will be controlled through a
sensor connected to the hydronic module.
Thermostatic valves are placed before fl oor terminals and
stop valves prevent cooling in fl oor terminals and radiators.
If diff erent kinds of terminals are placed within the same
zone, it is possible to use a single room temperature control
(room temperature sensor or room thermostat) connected
to the hydronic module.

Note:
Using combined terminals bypass valves are not needed
if, when all the valves close, the fl ow rate in the remaining
terminals is not too high and the fl ow rate in the unit is
within specifi cations.
Connections for AW1/AWT
The AW1/AWT systems support terminals and combined
terminals with up to 1 sensor controlled zone.
-
there can be only 1 sensor controlled terminal; all the
other terminals must have a room thermostat
-
the sensor controlled terminal must be single zone
-
the sensor controlled terminal must be the one requiring
the warmest water (in heating mode)
-
set the climatic curve considering the sensor controlled
terminal
-
set code 65 to YES and install the user interface (which
has an integrated room temperature sensor) in the sensor
controlled zone
-
ECO, A_F and cooling operating modes will refer to the
sensor controlled terminal.

Even if all terminals have a room thermostat it is
recommended to let 1 sensor controlled terminal and
proceed as explained.
If the above is not followed:

all terminals must have a room thermostat
-
set the climatic curve considering the terminal requiring
the warmest water (in heating ode)
-
set code 65 to no; the user interface can be installed in
one zone or on the hydronic module
-
ECO, A_F and cooling operating modes are not possible.

4 zones system, each zone has a dedicated thermostat. The
user interface is placed on the hydronic module.
Note:
If all terminals are placed within the same zone, it is possible
to use a single room thermostat connected to the hydronic
module.
