10 - SAFETY TIPS

1 Caution: Never open your TRAMONTINA PRESSURE COOKER without releasing all the pressure
inside to prevent accidents.
2 First, put the food inside the pot and never fill beyond the water levels indicated inside the cooker.
3 Disregard water drops that form on the lid and the handle, they are just condensation due to
excess steam.
4 At the beginning of cooking with the
VANCOUVER PRESSURE COOKER, it is
normal to notice steam escaping through
the safety lock button on the upper handle
until the working valve is activated.
5 Do not hit the edge of your cooker with kitchen utensils, as this might hinder the perfect sealing
of the item.
6 Never use the cooker without water, as this could damage the silicone ring and the safety valves
might break.
7 When taking the pot off the stove, do not force it open. Check the internal pressure by lifting the
working valve (weight).
8 When using your pressure cooker for frying, do not use it with the pressure lid. We recommend
using a spare (common) lid.
9 When storing your pressure cooker, place the lid upside down on the pot. Do not store with the
lid closed.
10 Do not rub your pot's claws excessively to avoid wearing them out.
11 During use, screws might come loose due to variations in temperature. When this happens,
re-tighten them with a cross-head screwdriver.
12 With the cooker lid in place, press the lock
pin (underneath) backwards, thus making
sure that the handle safety lock button is
down in rest position. This will ensure the
lid does not get stuck when closing the
pressure cooker.
